Sunday 26 April, the legendary Studio 4 (Flagey, Brussels) hosted the final of the Music Live 2009 contest, organized by les Jeunesses Musicales de la Communauté française de Belgique. Selected during the different stages of this vibrant competition, three soloists and seven bands, aged 13 to 20 years, presented a sample of their compositions with new energy and surprising professionalism.

For five hours, classical and jazz musicians, young composers and aspiring rockers, full of energy, have given their dynamism and enthusiasm to a delighted and electrical audience. Didier Mélon, presenter and producer of the radio show The world is a village which presented the afternoon with great sensitivity, was also happy to share the universe and the sensitivity of each competitor. To complete this final colourful and allow the jury, composed of personalities from the world of music and youth, Chasing the Dime, winners of the Swedish Music Live Contest and visiting for a few days in Belgium, have literally kicked the Flagey public.

At 7: 30 pm, the long-awaited awards moment: prize of the Minister of Culture and Broadcasting delivered in person by Fadila Laanan to the brilliant sopranist Lionel Stoffel, “Jeunesses Musicales” prize for the instrumental and gradual rock quartet Perils of Penelope, who will fly soon to the Music Live Contest in Slovenia, and prize from the Young Jury and from the Minister of Youth for groovy OPMOC. And to reward all the finalists, festivals, stages, recording studios, invitations to the Gaume Jazz Festival ... To give all these young talented artists the chance of achieving the success they deserve!
