Jeunesses Musicales Spain organizes more than 1000 concerts per year in the nation as well as abroad, taking young players into diverse places. But strangely, until now they haven’t had a stable concert series in the capital city.
During the current season 2008/09, this new series has been inaugurated the “Primer Ciclo de Conciertos de Juventudes Musicales de España en Conde Duque” (First Concert Series of Jeunesses Musicales of Spain in the Conde Duque); an important initiative from JMS which seeks to open a window to emerging artists in the very heart of Madrid’s cultural life. The chosen site is the Auditorium of the “Conde Duque”, a historical building turned into a Cultural Center by the Madrid City Council. This new Concert Series began in November with an unforgettable recital by Judith Jáuregui, which was recorded and broadcast on national TV. Six other concerts complete this season which are fed from the JM Spain Permanent Competition winners, including violinist Alejandro Bustamante and cellist Georgina Sánchez, and which until now has brought in large audiences.
On May 27th a concert by the exceptional pianist from Luxembourg, Francesco Tristano Schlimé, will conclude this very important initiative. If you are in Madrid on one of these days, don’t miss this it!
