A member of The World Orchestra makes it to the You Tube Symphony Orchestra

Spanish oboist and World Orchestra Member Robert Silla is one of the 96 musicians from 30 different countries selected to take part in the first You Tube Symphony Orchestra.Robert was one of the more than 3000 candidates who submitted audition videos showcasing their personal style and musical ability as they performed two pieces: "The Internet Symphony", an original Tan Dun composition written specifically for this program, and a second classical piece of their choosing.

On April 15thafter just two days of rehearsals with conductor Michael Tilson-Thomas, the YouTube Symphony Orchestra made its debut at New York City's Carnegie Hall with a program which included works by Bach, Mozart, Villa Lobos, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Lou Harrison, John Cage, and Tan Dun's Internet Symphony.  Robert Silla says: "It has been an amazing experience. The orchestra came together very quickly. I had a great time personally and musically." Robert, who is currently at the Spanish National Orchestra, was one of the 4 Spanish musicians admitted to the orchestra, 3 of which are from Valencia.
