It is with great sadness and disbelief that we have learnt of the early passing of Maestro Yakov Kreizberg on the 15th of March 2011.

Kreizberg has marked some of the most important highlights of the JMWO history. In the late 90's and at the turn of this century he led the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra (JMWO) as Music Director & Chief Conductor.

He was known among the musicians for his charismatic leadership, artistic passion and warm sincerity. During the time spent with the JMWO he inspired thousands of young musicians; always there to provide guidance and direction - so important for a young professional's musical development.

"Over the past year Yakov Kreizberg has been in active consultation around the new model of the JMWO." states JMI's Secretary General Blasko Smilevski, "A dream we are truly devastated not being able to realize together with the great Maestro."

Our deepest condolences go out to his family, close friends and the musical world.
